Canyon Adventures was established in 1991 by Ed and Kathy Hake. Ed grew up in the Gallatin Canyon and knows this area like the back of his hand. Kathy has lived here for over 30 years and with their combined experience, our guides can show you all the beauty that the Custer Gallatin National Forest has to offer.

Meet Cameron, riding her favorite horse, Carson She was one of the lucky ones that escaped from California and has embraced the qualities and values that Montana has to offer. Cameron grew up working with and showing livestock, and now aspires to have her own cattle ranch and of course to continue working with horses. Having Cameron as your guide will be an exceptional way to spend a few hours on the back of a horse.

Meet Adelaide, she found her way to the Big Sky country all the way from Pennsylvania.
She has a great passion for horses and has been working with them for the past six years. She studies
earth and oceanographic science at Bowdoin College. No matter what the future has in store for her, horses will always be in her life. Adelaide would love to have you and your family come ride with her.

Here is Monica also known as "Mo". Her home state is Washington State, but has spent her last eight years working in Wyoming and Montana at various places, working with horses in some fashion. She has worked with horses since she was eight. One of her passions is ranching but not to be excluded she loves photography and traveling. Having Mo as your trail guide would be a great ride, full of tidbits on riding skills.

Our youngest guide is Colby, but don't let her age fool you. She has a real sense for horses and is a little "spitfire"
when it comes to riding. Vermont is where she calls home. She has found herself going to college at University of Wyoming studying Equine Science wanting to go into Equine Therapy. Having Colby as your wrangler can only guarantee you that you will leave with a smile, hers is very contagious.

Halee is last but absolutely not least. She moved to Montana from North Dakota [which many of them do]
for the love of the mountains and the culture that comes with them. She grew up on a cattle ranch so horses are no stranger to her. Halee is my third North Dakota girl to work for me and had some big shoes to fill, she didn't disappoint me. Halee works only two days a week, so if you are lucky enough to have her as your guide
you are lucky enough.

This is Abigail, our office guru. She is, believe it or not, a home grown Montanan, from right here in Big Sky! Her years in equine riding may be few but that doesn't stop her from jumping on a horse just for fun or to help out when needed. Creative writing is her major and hopes to own a book-shop in the future. She also hopes to own her own horses when the time is right. So when you are making reservations to ride with us she will be the one to greet you on the phone.
